What do you do with a test not performed?

Hi all, wondering what your practices do in this scenario.

When a patient does not get a lab done for whatever reason, we used to do this in V11 EXE: Click on lab > Add a note that says test not performed > click Reviewed.

We are switching to web version. In V11e Web, it will not allow us to click Reviewed without adding a “Received” date. Understandable. We aren’t going to put in a fake “received” date since it will mess up quality measures. eCW suggested cancelling the order instead.

When we go to cancel the order, the only reasons that eCW allows is “Duplicate order,”“Not relevant,” or “Ordered in error,” none of which are our situation where the patient declined or the test just wasn’t performed. Per eCW, we can’t add a reason to that drop down.

How do you all handle closing out labs/orders that weren’t done by the patient?
