Portal Documents

Anyone turned on portal documents yet?

This is maybe more of feedback to ECW than anything else but just got off an hour long conversation with a tech.  This is after I have had a ticket open since 4/19.  This is a great feature that we have been asking for a long time but implementation and testing is terrible.

I opened a ticket on 4/19 because my activation screen was blank. Several techs connected but could never figure it out.  Last night they closed the ticket(no call) and said they turned it on from the back end and gave me steps to do to give security permission and send documents.  I checked this morning and still wasn’t working.  So I went to Portal Settings and it showed it wasn’t enabled from there.  Tried to activate and gave me an error.  Logged out and back in this time it let me in but the agreement portion just said test document but I clicked through.  Now states it is active.  Went and published some documents to my test patient.  Logged into portal and couldn’t figure out where to even see the documents I didn’t receive any notification either that they were there.  So reopened the ticket.  Tech couldn’t find documents either.  We went back and restarted all the jobs with Healow and tried again and then it finally showed up.  Clicked on the documents and it just sits and spins, we maybe finally got one document to load but after that none of the other documents would download or show up.  Tech say oh you need to update your browsers (we were originally in Edge, moved to Chrome same issue) updated browser still not working.  So tech wants to close this ticket and open new tickets.  One for the documents not opening and another for enhancement request to create a notification for the patient(not sure why this was not thought about before) and another for the permissions rewording.  These are the permission the staff members are required to have to use publish portal documents.

- Allow Access To Patient Engagement Panel. *We didn’t give this permission and we still could publish so not sure what this has to do with portal documents.

- Allow Patient Portal Permission in patient engagement   * This is the actually for the button that enables the publish document to portal button, even though no where in permission or description does it say anything about portal documents.  Tech could not tell me what else this permission did.

- document-change review status-  *These permission my staff already have but is a faulty permission as this will let staff unreview any document whether or not they were the one to review, so if a provider reviews a document the front office staff or whoever has this permission can unreview.

- document- change review doc. *also already had this not sure how this if different than the other permission but description is not good.

So very messy process, not much forethought or testing put into it let do it half and just roll it out so we can market this great feature.  These type of thing consume a lot of staff time and I am sure there are many other clients that have attempted to turn on and got the same run around.
