We just acquired a practice that has a residency program. How do you setup your residents? Are they set up as a provider? What is the “Is a Resident” on the provider setup? What does that do? Currently, we have a resident but he isn’t built as a provider. He documents on the progress note. The provider adds an attestation statement and he locks it. However, I was told that the resident needs to lock the note, assign it to the provider and the provider needs to cosign.
Just wondering what everyone else’s workflow is for their residency program.
