We have a problem, often, of diagnostic imaging orders not being “assigned” to anyone by accident (they are not assigned to anyone by default) and then “disappearing”.
This is a huge patient safety and potential medical legal issue-a situation that should never occur in an EMR, but it does….
Does anyone know of a way to review DI orders in some sort of log, per physician, and see what DI orders have been generated, such that any unassigned DI is identified?
