Hello Everyone:  I just downloaded all KPI listed (attached).
Menu>Analytics>Safety and Compliance Dashboard.
What is the source of these KPI?
Are these standards from somewhere?

Medication List

Is there a way in Current Medications List that duplicates of these medications or generic/brand can be grouped together or alphabetized?  Patients will long medications lists have duplicates and this could be a patient safety issue per one provider in my practice.  I know in the right chart panel, you can group by date or medication.  Any solutions to this?

Does anyone have the EDPS (Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale) Smart Form? If so, where is it mapped in your system? And does anyone have a screenshot of what it looks like?

feature for real time, urgent communication

Do you use any eCW or 3rd party features for real time, urgent communication?  ie a provider who is seeing patients on the floor needs urgent information or needs to take urgent action.  While we are addressing challenges in our phone systems in these situations, we are wondering if there is a solution within eCW.

We have many High Priority TEs so another one wouldn’t get a provider’s attention while s/he is seeing patients, and providers have given the feedback that they often don’t see the urgent/emergent Messages either.

Fix for slow or failed Dymo printing in V11

A quick FYI. We discovered with our recent V11 upgrade some users could print labels instantly, and others it took 5 minutes for the job to print out.

The difference is that ALL 3 FIELDS for a Dymo template need to be specified in the Settings > Local Settings window.

I don;t have Dymo on my tablet PC, but this will give you an idea of where this is. All 3 need to have a valid template listed, even though #2 and #3 were optional in previous versions of ECW.

You don’t have to create new Dymo templates. We used the same template in all 3 fields, now it works great.

In the state of Illinois we have the ability to remotely query the state prescription monitoring database and then it will display in our EMR. With the rise of narcotic abuse, this could be a very beneficial tool for our practice. I was wondering if anyone else in Illinois was using this, how well it works for them, what is the functionality within ECW?

Anyone using the PDMP product in V11 yet? (Appriss Narxcare controlled substance report query)

Curious to see if it allows RN’s/MA’s to run the query while rooming the patient.

Also wondering if logging is working as expected.

OB/GYN HX in popup

I’m working to improve providers opnion on eCW and one of the items of frustration they brought up is with OB/GYN HX they have to click on those individually instead of being able to “toggle thru” to get to them.

Is there a setting we can change this? My assumption is no but figured I would ask….

Does this change in V11?

Our practice is looking into adding Kiosk to our front desk workflow, and hoping to get some real-world feedback. 

And if anyone reading this is currently using Kiosk and is in the Mpls/St Paul area, we’d like to be able to see it “in action” if possible.

Does anyone else have problems with duplicate medications on the med list? It seems to be when SureScripts sends a refill request. For example, provider prescribed Diazepam 10 MG Tablet from MediSpan at an office visit. Today, a refill request came in from SureScripts for Diazepam 10 Tablet (MG was not included) in the name so now there are 2 instances of Diazepam on his med list:

What’s the best way patients can review and reconcile their meds before I see them in the exam room.  Something they can do in waiting room, as well as complete my standard Review of systems.  I tried the portal but seems rather buggy.  And I’m too cheap to pay $25 per month per provider for another service that costs money but doesn’t help my bottom line.

Extremely slow EMR after server reboot

Yesterday was the most frustrating day with Eclinicalworks. The EMR was running very slow so we rebooted the server and found it to be CRAWLING slow after server reboot. We could ping the server with no latency. We placed an urgent support ticket in the morning and it took us over 1 hour to accomplish each office visit note since it was taking a LONG time to register each click. There was a long pause after each click for the EMR to recover and it gave all kinds of errors as if the database was not proper.

The guy on the support line was not helpful at all. He said he was just filling in for someone and had no clue. He said his supervisor would call but nobody called. Apparently, I was told that support was working on the server but I did not see any activity and we had absolutely no results by the end of the day and it only got worse.

If I were to start with a new EMR today, what EMR would be a good one to switch to? I am assuming I would have to start as a new practice with a new EMR to avoid importing corrupt data into the new EMR. My office staff is suggesting Practice fusion. I have no clue what EMR’s are out there and which ones are good but it seems like if I do not have a functioning EMR today, I might have no choice but to switch today to avoid losing revenue going forward.

Any help in this matter will be highly appreciated.

EPCS Fails and Frustrations, or Yes! Your Controlled Prescription has been sent Successfully (Even if it Hasn’t)!

Yeah, I searched the forums, but my title is way cooler…

So, does anyone else get this routinely:  “Controlled Prescription has been sent Successfully” when in fact the ePrescription Logs show that the rx failed?

I am using the RSA key fob thingy (second one—they advise I not put it on my keys, but it kinda belongs there, ya know?!) because I am still on 10e (because I guess I need to get rid of my domain controller to get to 11—sigh).

Anyway…

So the thing messages me happy stuff, but not necessarily true stuff, pretty regularly.

And…I often get fails in refill attempts with Vyvanse prescriptions in particular.  Because of my former military-associated background, I love to write generic, but this does not seem to work with Vyvanse.

And…if get repeated failed sends with Vyvanse, the only success seems to come from Stopping the medication, and then Starting it anew but NOT from a Favorite.

I dunno.  Surescripts would have you believe that this is the greatest thing on earth.  And it IS better.  But just a few inches short of perfection.  Or that’s what I’ve heard.

Circle of Care

I have been trying to use the circle of care feature to keep track of the specialist by patients see but I have been able to.  When I choose providers, only the practice providers show up.  We have a huge list of specialists we refer to but I don’t seem to be able to access that list within Circle of Care.  Can anyone help?  Thanks in advance.

11e Plug-in Issues

Question for all 11e users:

We just upgraded to version 11 on September 7th, 2018. Most of our users were using the exe version, however in October we started training staff on the browser version. We are taking on 5 new clinics and wanted to start them on browser, they start working with us in 2019 so the plan was that we would train our current users on the browser version so that they can assist the new clinics coming in 2019.

We must have opened over 30 tickets after testing out browser with staff. The biggest headache we are having is due to the plug-ins. We have installed them correctly but users will still have a hard time opening anything in “plug in mode”. Sometime if the staff member refreshes the screen, the documents will load but sometimes they are forced to log out and turn the document management button on then off then back on.

We were told by eCW (after waiting for WEEKS for an answer) that the document management plug in not always working is a bug (PE-47866). Due to this “bug” they are now saying that it is the cause of Dexis not opening in the dental exam window, DYMO lab labels not printing.

Has anyone else had an issue with the plug-ins in 11e?

At his point we have trained 3 of our facilities on 11e and they feedback from staff is awful because of the plug-in nightmare.
eCW acts like it is no big deal that they have a product that simply does not work. We have reached out to our SAM but I do not feel like our issues are really being taken very seriously.

We were told a high level tech would remote in with us to pin the cause of plug-in issue but they did not even contact my co-worker last week.

With the new clinic “go-lives” coming soon we are starting to worry. I am hoping someone on here has an answer or some general feedback.
