Our fax OS was pretty old but fax server was working fine. When ecw upgraded their server software, we were advised to upgrade to Server Essentials 2016 which we did. Now nothing working for almost 2 weeks and no solution in sight.
We got a tech who does not know how to create a user in windows so my practice manager had to do it for him.
Then the mainpine guys worked on it.
Still no faxes going in or out and we are a rheumatology office which means we have so much paperwork (biologics orders, Prior auths medical appeals, etc).
We need some major help.
We can manually fax outgoing faxes through another telephone line and an old fax machine, but we need some advice for work around for the incoming faxes. We have had the same fax number for years so the insurances, hospitals etc are complaining that they can’t send us faxes. We get 100’s of pages a day so we need a work around until this gets fixed.
Any advice appreciated.
Fax server down for almost 2 weeks and no progress by tech support—help!
list of specialists
Whats the best place to document the lists of specialists and vendors as per Medicare annual wellness visit requirements? I’ veben keeping it under PMH but wondering if there is a place specifically designed for this (eg: Circle of Care, the Care Team heading - which I only see under medical summary).
where is Quick Notes Editor?
Quick notes editor seems like a very useful overall tool. You can edit History, HPI, ROS, etc.
But, I can’t find it. Do i not have access as a co-admin? How can i give myself access to it.
Thank you for giving me some directions.

Vaccine Inventory - multiple locations
We use the vaccine lot tracking within eCW to reconcile our vaccines. Up until now it hasn’t been a problem as we only had 1 location. We just opened our second location and want to know what best practice other clients use to track and reconcile their vaccines and reconciling using eCW lot numbers. Suggestions?
New to 10e Web Based and missing some things
We just got access to 10e and there are some things I have questions about. Our “Training” for this new version consisted of about 30 minutes from someone who was given a watered down training themselves. We were instructed to use the Plug In mode if there was the option.
Most of my questions come from the fax inbox since that I where I spend a lot of my time.
Drop Downs
Sorting fax inboxes is taking more time because there are no more drop downs for who we want to send a document to and what facility they are at. It seems like there is only the option to type the persons name and location. Is this normal or maybe we don’t have someone thing turned on?
Accessing the patient Hub from the fax inbox
I sort the fax inbox for a clinic that has closed. Some providers from there went to another location and some left the practice. I used to be able to click on their Hub and see who they were seeing to determine what to do with the fax. Is this no longer an option or am I missing it? Currently I run two eCW’s so that I can sort the fax in one window and look at the Hub in the other.
It also seems that no matter which way you access the fax inbox, it all ends up at the same screen. Before, if you went different ways, you saw different views of the inbox i.e. one way had a list of the patient documents on the left side (with the Hub option at the top) and another way had a small box in the center of the screen and was a very condensed version of their documents.
Setting Favorites
I used to be able to select favorite staff to send things to and now I can’t find that option if I right click on a document and click Send To. I also noticed that when I’m in a Telephone Encounter and want to send it to someone else, the drop down has every employee listed, current and former.
Dragon Medical One causing Freezeup of Screen
For the last few months I have intermittent freezeups of eCW at random times. My IT guy and multiple support calls did not find any solution. ECW will freeze up completely and you cannot even x out, you have to use task manager to quit the program. It is only happening on the 2 computers that have Dragon Medical One on it (which is the online version, recently installed) so I think this may be the issue. Anybody having the same issue?
Thanks for the input.

v11 Question about Immunizations
Are you able to pull immunizations and print a list from the State Registry through eCW v11?
Thanks
Highlighting/Changing font for part of text in “Treatment” in Progress Notes
Is there any way, under “Treatment” in progress notes to highlight/underline/change font size in part of the text to bring attention to certain recommendations.
I’ve even tried writing notes in Microsoft Word , then copying and pasting into “Treatment” , but any highlights/bold/italics/underline are removed in the final document.
EPCS Fails and Frustrations, or Yes! Your Controlled Prescription has been sent Successfully (Even if it Hasn’t)!
Yeah, I searched the forums, but my title is way cooler…
So, does anyone else get this routinely: “Controlled Prescription has been sent Successfully” when in fact the ePrescription Logs show that the rx failed?
I am using the RSA key fob thingy (second one—they advise I not put it on my keys, but it kinda belongs there, ya know?!) because I am still on 10e (because I guess I need to get rid of my domain controller to get to 11—sigh).
Anyway…
So the thing messages me happy stuff, but not necessarily true stuff, pretty regularly.
And…I often get fails in refill attempts with Vyvanse prescriptions in particular. Because of my former military-associated background, I love to write generic, but this does not seem to work with Vyvanse.
And…if get repeated failed sends with Vyvanse, the only success seems to come from Stopping the medication, and then Starting it anew but NOT from a Favorite.
I dunno. Surescripts would have you believe that this is the greatest thing on earth. And it IS better. But just a few inches short of perfection. Or that’s what I’ve heard.
Illumine me O Wise Ones!
What is this?
Been working with ecw for almost 10 years and I have never seen this, no one in our practice has. There is an R just to the left of the patient name in the office visit screen and the name is highlighted. Any idea where is comes from?
Thanks
V11 Upgrade & Pt. Specific Alerts
Making the move to V11, did anyone experience patient specific alerts that were previously satisfied (in V10) display as due after the V11 upgrade? We will be upgrading soon and are trying to predict if this will be a problem. This issue was found in the notifications tab on the eCW portal.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Log in to eCW. 2. Open a patient’s Hub add a Patient-Specific alert and create a non-recurring alert. 3. Satisfy the alert - the alert will now display as satisfied in the CDSS and Alerts window. After V11 Upgrade: 4. Log in to eCW. 5. Open the patient’s Hub for the same patient. 6. Select CDSS - the alert will show as satisfied. 7. Select Alerts from the Patient Hub. In the scenario above, the satisfied alert may display as due in the Alerts window of the Patient Hub and satisfied under CDSS.
Thank you!

You can see for yourself whether or not “universally available” describes the enhancement. See below.
Hide/Inactivate HIP Question that has been replaced with structured data
Is it possible to hide a question in the HPI section of the progress notes?
We created an HPI question as Non-structured.
Now that we need to report said question we found out the item could be structured data.
We created a new question it as a structured date field.
We are finding is that staff are still using the unstructured data field since they click on the HPI link.
I just want to hide it so when they open up the HPI section of the progress note they only see the structured question.
In our test environment I only found that we can delete the question. I can’t delete the question since it has been answered on other patients.
Thanks.
CVX code we need is not an option for flu quad vaccine
Our office got the quad vaccine this year. I am attempting to set up the immunizations so everything is billed correctly. I figured out doses, NCD, Lots, etc. However, on the CVX, I looked up the CPT code 90674 and it’s stating the CVX is 171. I don’t have that option on my list to choose from, nor can I type it in manually.
Any idea on how to get this updated?? I have a ticket in just in case.
90674 Influenza virus vaccine, quadrivalent (ccIIV4), derived from cell cultures, subunit, preservative and antibiotic free, 0.5 mL dosage, for intramuscular use

formulary tier viewscreen
Hi, we are trying to improve the view for prescriber to see what drugs are covered by a patients insurance at the time of prescribing. Currently we can only see if drug X is covered. Is there another view setting the will shows what alternatives are covered by that persons plan? How do we access that view
Kiosk—looking for feedback
Good morning, all:
Our practice is looking into adding Kiosk to our front desk workflow, and hoping to get some real-world feedback.
And if anyone reading this is currently using Kiosk and is in the Mpls/St Paul area, we’d like to be able to see it “in action” if possible.
Thank you in advance!
V11 provider training
When we moved from v8>9>10 we had archived videos that the docs watched to find out the new changes. At this point there are only live webinars available. For experienced practices, what did you use to train providers on v11? I’d rather not stop billing to watch webinars on ecw’s time schedule.
Thanks,
Chris
V11 will be “fixed” in the next upgrade… LOL
There are many, many problems with ecw in general. It’s horrible.
The tragic thing is it should not be so horrible, and should be fixable.
We have terrible problems with it, duplication of parts of charts 10-20+ times,
crashes when switching assessment tabs, and many other problems.
The solution to all of this lately has been, “It will be fixed with the next upgrade”
When is the “next upgrade”?
We don’t know.
Meanwhile the “workflow” has become a bad word here, and usually involves 3x the work or more, and makes no sense.
Now when I prescribe something, I have to hit more buttons for Rx Eligibility… WHY? Why can’t it do anything for me?
Its like trying to make Microsoft Outlook into an EMR… but… oh yeah, that’s what they did.
I had high hopes for the web version, but it stinks. Cannot reply to telephone notes without copy, paste, jump in circles workflows.
Is there not a useful EMR that actually works out there?
Paper charts were more efficient, and that’s sad.
Follow Up N/A in billing window
In all our Progress Notes, “Follow Up N/A” defaults to checked. Does it being checked prevent us from being able to search or run a report on who is due for a follow up appointment?
From what I understand the 2-3 Days, 1 Week, etc. buttons generate structured data but I don’t know if 1) we’ve prevented ourselves from being able to search that data and 2) how to run a report on that data (Patient Recall?).
Please share how your practice uses the follow up buttons to keep track of patients who are due for appointments!
