healow Televisits vs. doxy.me

Hello all,

We were considering recently switching to healow for our televisits. We are currently using the free version of doxy.me. I know this issue was discussed a lot back in Spring of this year, and there were a lot of reported issues with healow Televisits. Since we were all adjusting to the virtual world due to COVID, those issues are understandable.

1) Now, 7 months later, I am wondering if healow Televisits is a more viable option than it was earlier this year, given months of time for improvements. Anyone have experience with this?

2) As a follow up, assuming healow Televisits’ technical functionality is on par with other services like doxy.me, are there any clear benefits/features that healow has that others don’t (such as ways to boost efficiency, simplify workflow, etc.)?

Good morning!  Is there a report that we can run to show all patients that have Medicare or a Medicare plan that has NOT had the G0438 or G0439 code in the last year?

Creating DX alert for procedure

I’m trying to create a DX specific alert for a procedure. DX alerts have everything but procedures in the dropdown when creating them so I’m in a pickle. I can create just a procedure alert but you’re very limited with criteria for the trigger which is age and doesn’t apply in this case.

I’m trying to create a diabetes eye exam procedure alert. If I made this particular exam a lab I’m set, but it’s not. Any suggestions?

eCW EPCS Enrollment - AD FS Enabled

Is there any other practice with AD FS enabled that has enabled EPCS?

We are currently struggling with being able to validate the providers identity, each time we try, it simply times out the session. I have a ticket open but it does not seem to be very helpful and the deadline to have our providers enabled in quickly trickling down.

Is there a way to get a LIST of the Labs Ordered for a particular day… NOT THE JELLY BEAN… which would work if they gave you the option to print out the list.

We were told by our SAM today that eCW is pausing the 11.50 rollout, and will not be pursuing updates through the rest of 2020. The next batch of updates will resume in 2021 and will be for v11.52.

Has anyone else heard this, or have any different info from their SAM?

Custom icon/button to launch external website or application

Am I crazy or does anyone currently have some kind of custom icon/button within your eCW instance that when a user clicks it, an external website or application launches?

I remember sitting in on a PACS integration project meeting where the eCW PM said that that a button/icon will be added so that the doctors can launch the PACS viewer (a website in this case, not an installed app). The doctors would then use their PACS credential to log in.

I also know that eCW has SSO capability to use its credentials to log into another application. I would imagine that there be some sort of launching mechanism via a button/icon within eCW that will trigger the other application to launch and for the credential certificates to pass to the other system.

Patient Portal - Past Statements feature

Is this working for anyone? We have it enabled in settings and have run the task multiple times. It says “statements have not been published” when we click past statements. We’ve tried it on three real portal accounts who have numerous closed statements on their accounts. The current statement shows, just not past.

Real-time search when ordering labs and Dragon

We started a new doctor today and she does not have RTS when ordering labs, but a “Go” button to select. eCW claims it’s because Dragon is enabled on that machine. I claim we have multiple doctors (and confirmed with one doctor while chatting w/eCW) using both Dragon and RTS there, so that’s not the issue. Anyone else had this?

Special Characters used by Therapists

The use of quotation marks by therapists in their care plan notes is pretty common as it documents what the patient said.  In v11.50, quotation marks are included under the restricted Special Characters.  Any suggestions for an alternative option being used by other Behavioral Heath Therapists?

Rx Security - Is anyone using this?

Hi there,

Just curious as to how many of you are utilizing the Rx Security feature that eCW offers.  (File > Security Settings > Rx Security).  We’re considering enabling this functionality, understanding that there will be a lot of upkeep to maintain but thinking it makes sense from a provider liability perspective.

Is there anyone using this and if so, we’re interested in your experiences and issues to consider if we turn this on.  We are a hospital-owned, multi-facility physicians group with over 80 providers and hundreds of users.

11e Web Vesrion>>Editing Letters

How do you edit letters in 11e Web?

I see templates, I hit “edit”, and there is no way to edit the letter>just a “hand” cursor to move around the screen.

What am I missing?

I wanted to create this area for Televisit related updates which I post in periodically. I have been posting updates in all the other threads and will attempt to consolidate it here. Depending on views here, I may also duplicate efforts and post in the other threads.

I will start by informing you about content you can access on support portal which you will definitely find helpful. In addition to all the documents and videos previously published on my.eclinicalworks.com, there are now two new short videos on how get your patients started with healow Televisits. When you log-in to the the client portal, follow this path:

Weird Issues Recently

We have been experiencing some abnormal issues with our eCW this past week.  It feels like someone is literally playing tricks on us. 
We have experienced issues like users’ security settings totally disabling, over 30 repeated telephone encounters for one patient all with the same date, same time up to the second, and for the same patient. I also had an office that could not schedule on their resources because it showed a pop up that the same user was in all the available slots on the resource.  This is what we have heard in the past couple of days, its a lot of little one offs that sound glitchy.  Has any else experienced anything weird or off with their eCW?

Going through the release notes for exe and browser, and just thought it would be a good idea to share what’s new in the upcoming client upgrade. Not everything but at least the major ones.

This is what I have so far:

What’s new: EXE

• Some new security attributes, many of them I already see, like deleting a pt, setting favorites for race/ethnicity/lang, etc

• Additional print/fax/lock print settings for consult notes.

• Absolute Session timeout, can now force a user to log off if they’ve been logged in for X amount of hours. Cannot disable.

• Disable user access to EXE, enabled by item key, disabled by default, pg 34

• Updates to Patient Merge window, pg 38

• New items added to safety and compliance report in report console, pg 47

• Special Character & character limit alert, only works in certain sections, pg 54

• Draggable pop-up windows, popups throughout ecw have been enhanced to be draggable or moved around. Enabled by itemkey, 4318_VAA, pg 57

• Birth Sex and Gender identity added to configure demographics mandatory fields section, you can now also hover over SOGI button on pt info window to display tool tip w/ sex orientation, gender id, and birth sex, pg 60

• Add an expiration date to document folders, this prevents the document from showing up on the DRLTA tab on the pts RCP, enabled by itemkey 1950_AOOAOO, pg 62

• You can now deactivate AOEs, pg 75

• You cannot delete a pt if they have any pt docs, pg 114

• Enhancements to the appointment log (more details), enabled by itemkey 4242_VAA, pg 129

• Adding expiration dates to Global Alerts, pg 132

• Visit type Charge: new feature, allows clinic to bill pt w/ a flat fee based on visit type, pg 135.

• Allergies no longer viewable on RCP, pg 149

• Lab/DI that has a document associated to it now displays w/ a gray paperclip on DRLTA tab, 150

• Labs on RCP now display in two sections: Outstanding orders, and Resulted orders. Also more filtering options for labs in RCP, ie ordered in the last 3/6 months, pg 150

• Scan button at bottom of prog note relabeld to Attachments button, pg 162.
Jpg/Gif images scanned into a PN will now also get printed/faxed when printing/faxing the PN note. Tiff and PDFs do not get printed/sent, pg 165

• Additional info required when setting a med as discontinued under Current Medications in PN, enabled by itemkey 1895_AOOAOO, pg 171

• New (U) icon for uncoded allergies throughout ecw, enabled by itemkey 4262_VAA, pg 177

• Mapping uncoded allergies (security attribute required), you can run report to check for uncoded allergies, that searches for the drug db to find a match to convert it to a structured allergy, pg 182

• Report Console report for deleted allergies, Allergy Report, pg 185

• Icons for allergy classification, enabled by item key 4262_VAA. Pg 187

• NKDA verification checkbox is never automatically checked, enabled by itemkey 4024_VAOE and 0292_HOAOO. If checked, making any changes to allergies will uncheck NKDA box, pg 188

• SO/GI button added to social history, you can hover over button for add. Info, pg 191

• Enhancements to down syndrome percentile charts on vitals, pg 192

• New popup window warning for improper spacing or decimal placements on Rx formulary screen, ie [1 . 5 mg ]instead of [1.5 mg], pg 208

• Pt Rx education now considers the route of administration, pg 210

• Accessing inj/t inj from progress note will now show “Today’s Immunizations”, there is a separate tab now for historical immunizations. If accessed through pt hub will show historical immunizations/inj. Pg 213

• If there are immunizations/inj marked as pending for pt, and the note can no longer be locked until imm/inj have been completed, pg 216

• Free text lot #s must be in the system, or an error will prompt to add them to inventory, cannot save otherwise, pg 217

• You can now setup therapeutic injections for allergy/drug interactions checks, each injection needs to be mapped individually, (Once mapped, you cannot remove the mapping if it’s associated with a pt encounter), pg 219

Alerts opening from resource scheduler

Hi all,

When I right-click a patient appointment and click ‘edit’ from the resource scheduler, it seems like sometimes an alerts window pops up, whereas other times it goes straight to the appointment scheduler where I can adjust the appointment details, e.g. appointment type and time/etc. Is there any way to turn off the alerts window for clinicians?

Web encounter - reply to patient-where do you enter the message?

When replying to a patient who has created a web encounter through the portal, do you write in the action taken box, the reply to patient box?
If I reply in action taken box then click reply to patient, then patient receives empty message.
If I reply in “reply to patient” box, the patient receives the message but it does not show in the action taken box so it looks like I never wrote the patient back.
This is only on the chrome browser version.
ECW says this is normal.
Wondering if this is true?

We turned on healow TeleVisits for 4 of our providers to trial and have ran into a few questions

1)  What role does your MA play in this?

2) How are you handling teenagers if they aren’t allowed to have portal access?

3) What about interpretation? How are you handling non-English speaking patients?

4) If you’re not using eCW TeleVisit…how are you securely sending your patient the “link” to join without sharing your providers email addresses etc.
