Print Headers and Footers

Several items printed from ECW have either headers or footers with server IP/server info on them. From a security standpoint, the public doesn’t need to see this. It also wastes paper as often page 2 of things will be just the header/footer.

Notably Paper RX and Portal Credentials printed out for patients.

Anyone know if/where a global setting is to stop the headers/footers of server IP from printing?


televisit problems - be careful

Ok I was ready to switch over to televisits today but it didn’t go as planed.  Here are the problems I faced.  Hopefully this makes sense.

Provider side: when installing the Healow agent on each provider laptop and desktop, there is a major glitch.  The Healow agent install went well. Then you login to the agent, and it asks you to install a browser plugin and hit refresh.  I installed but loops and keeps asking for the same download and install.  It won’t let me “refresh” as it should.  I had placed a ecw ticket the kind rep showed me how to “reset the cache” for the agent.  Ctrl-alt-M when under healow settings screen.  I did that and the result in out of 4 laptops it only worked on 1.  3 others laptops are stuck in this download browser plugin and refresh loop.  I’ll have to place another ticket for this.

Patients side-

But for patients, the problem is on desktop version via the portal page.  Once on patient portal, it has a button that says View Televisit FAQ and you can press a nice button that tests if the patient’s computer is compatible.  It said no to me even though I have the latest chrome default browser and windows 10 operating system.  The error says “healow TeleVisits use cutting edgebrowser technology to deliver a great experience. Unfortunately,your device is currently unsupported. Please use a laptop or desktop to access your TeleVisits”

So I bypassed that message and went straight to the “Join televisit”.  It then did it’s own nice clean compatibility check and I got “its compatible for browser and audio.” That makes no sense if the other compatibility button said I failed.  And evne though this says I’m compatible, at the bottom it said “My internet connection is only good enough for audio” which can’t be true.  I can zoom and skype multiple visits on my business high speed internet and internal high speed network. 

So then I went to the Healow app as a patient.  Nice easy login and I can easily see I have 1 appointment pending.  I click it’s twice then pressed “Start TeleVisit”. I entered the vitals (note text error - Heart rate and respiratory rate are labeled correctly) and was brought straight to virtual waiting room where it alerts me “waiting for Doctor to join.”  After we connected. it was an excellent connection.

So to summarize, once I get ECW to correctly install the Healow agent on all our laptops error free, Televisit will work very well only if patient uses the Healow app.  If they want to via the portal, there are risks patients will not connect and won’t be happy with the experience.

I do plan on asking ECW to credit these all test visits since they aren’t true visits.

Changes made within ECW version - cloud based practice

Does anyone know of an upgrade that was pushed out on the Cloud Based practices of ECW?  We have noticed several changes in the last 2 days and did not get any notification that changes were made.

1.  The T Jellybean for claims follow up.  This went from showing all my claims pending and worked (198) to only the current ones unworked (5)

2.  The insurance within demos - if you previously typed “aa”, it would only bring up insurance that had AA in the beginning of the master file, now it brings up any insurance that has “aa” anywhere in the name.  e.g. aaa and USAA will now show in the list.

3.  All of our progress notes now print a header as shown below - this is a test patient so none of the info is real PHI.

POS code HELP

We are trying to create and file tickets through a telephone encounter and if you manually change the POS from our normal filing code 11 to a 02 as required it will reject the claim stating it does not match our facility POS code 11. We can go over to the claims screen and manually open a claim but then Medicare won’t have the encounter to view.
Does anyone know if this is being waived by Medicare or will we have to swap over our Facility ID everytime we file from schedule to televist?
HELP!!!!!!!

Televisit volume on Provider side

We are on 11 exe and we are experiencing random pc’s that we can’t hear the patient.  However, if you use another application the volume is ok.  We are trying everything.

Currently we need to add an external pair of speakers in order to hear the patient.  Not acceptable at all.

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this random issue.

I wanted to create this area for Televisit related updates which I post in periodically. I have been posting updates in all the other threads and will attempt to consolidate it here. Depending on views here, I may also duplicate efforts and post in the other threads.

I will start by informing you about content you can access on support portal which you will definitely find helpful. CHADIS with v11?  currently usable or future version…

As a pediatric group, we have been eagerly hoping CHADIS would be available since it was brought up as an upcoming interface at the NUC back a hundred years ago (in pediatrician years). 

I have heard both that it is avail in v11 and that it will be an upcoming feature in a future v11 release.  Anyone using it?  thoughts?

Faxing Controlled Substance Prescriptions

Is there a setting in eCW that will allow prescriptions for controlled substances to be sent via fax?  I’m trying to fax a rx for concerta to a Navy clinic’s pharmacy (because they will accept them), but can’t get it to generate and fax the script.

For those of you have not done Telehealth before (like us) and are now thrown into during this emergency.  What are you doing for consent in the Progress Note. 

The consent recommended by legal, is a 2 page document.  That will work great to have the patient sign after this crisis moving forward.

I don’t want to type this whole thing and have the provider read it to the patient and have it have to populate the note.

Is there any short, sweet, highlight, to the point information that is most important for the provider to read and gain verbal consent from the patient.

Hello,

We are hoping to implement Televisits soon, and have run into a few access questions. Since the Patient Portal is a part of this functionality, how are other practices providing this option to children 0-17? Do you allow these patients to have a portal account with a proxy? We currently have the portal disabled for any patient ages 13-17 years old, and realize that when we begin using telemed they will not have the same opportunities.

Have any other practices already implemented this and have any recommendations?

Providers locked out R/T Healow?

For the last couple of days we are getting a number of calls from providers that are locked out of eCW.  They claim that they have not tried to log in multiple times, but that they just attempt once and they are locked out.  We think it has to do with the Healow agent that was installed for televisits.  Has anyone else seen this?  If so, is there a fix other than removing the Healow agent?

Printing Faxing print to Pdf of Medical Record after V11

Since upgrading to V11 ,  we have not been able to Print to Pdf from Windows 10 computers. We use the .exe version.  ECW switched us to the Plugin, but then there was no logo or signatures.  I had them switch it back and we continued to do it on the Windows 7 computers until hopefully they would fix it.  But IT is in the process of replacing the Windows 7.  So now we are having multiple issues and we are now having issues even printing. 

How are others handling this?

look up old notes

Whats the best way to look up old notes.  For exmaple,  Pt had abnormal LFTS diagnosis sometime in 2017 - how do i go about searching for those encounters related to abn LFTS?  I don’t want to carry over all old problems in the ongoing problem lists or put in the one line medical Hx.  Ideally I want to be able to search a patients notes like we search websites and google but ?

Commonwell Name change

I have already asked for feedback from ecw but I figured I would ask here from the users as well. Has anyone changed their “account name” and what issues did you run into?

We are playing with Commonwell and we show up under our hospital name although the ecw records are not associated with the hospital at all. I put in a ticket to have the Commonwell name changed and was told this is tied to your account name so I am wondering what all that’s going to change. If its just the internal information ecw uses it probably wont hurt but what if its surecripts, epcs, patient portal etc?

Anyone been through this?

Stuck in, what I believe, is “classic” assessment and cannot change back to “modern”.

Telemedicine Alternative Services

We are looking for an alternative telemedicine service.  We are using eCW’s Healow solution, but since we can’t get iPhones to work we are looking at about a 25-30% success rate.  We need a back up plan.

We’ve looked at Doxy.me but the free version looks cumbersome (no text or email).  We are discussing the Skype and google options as stop-gap measures for patients that can’t connect via eCW.

What is everyone else using and how well do you think it works?

Commonwell/Carequality: helpful or not?

I say this knowing a couple of things, I believe:

1) It’s not perfect. Nowhere close.

2) There’s a chicken or the egg scenario. The network is incomplete so practices/entities don’t join. But the network is incomplete because practices/entities don’t join.

Having said that…..is it any level helpful? Has it given you any benefit at all? Or is the level of dissatisfaction so high that you’ve given up (for now)?

Allow me an equivalent. We subscribe to the Advanced Plan for Health population health tool. It gives us every claim filed for one of our corporate clients, no matter who rendered the service - hospital, lab, pharmacy, DME, physician, etc. But…..some of the data is lacking, or just plain bad. However, the shortcomings don’t keep us from using it - we just work around the faults.
