What is your best workflow for when a patient has an allergy that can interact with an injection? This is a made up scenario, but played out similarly. A patient believes she’s allergic to Penicillin, allergy verified in the note by the nurse on intake and entered as structured data in the allergies. The provider, during the visit, orders a Penicillin injection for the patient. The patient is given the injection. The provider is upset that a pop-up notification or interaction notification didn’t show the allergy, as it would for medications.
Is there a setting or item key available that would give a pop-up notification for injections as we get for medication interactions?
