We joined with another organization January 1st and sadly had to change our EMR to join with theirs. In the conversion we went from ECW to Medent. EVERY patient was transferred to our new EMR - active - inactive and deceased. We even received some guarantors in the transfer (we are a pediatric practice). The conversion company (EHR Integration) and Medent both report there was no way to filter the patients to active for transfer - even though that was what was noted in the contract.
So while the conversion was NOT my choice - it is now my mess. Our active patient volume went from 10,000 to approximately 36000 patients!
Anyone with similar experiences and any ideas for help?
Both Medent and the Data Integration company are offering me nothing. Their idea was deactivate everyone who has not had an appt since the conversion and reactivate when they call the office with a question or appt request. This is ridiculous!
