Upgraded over the weekend. Tested multiple workstations, everything looked fine. Then reality hit.

Once you get more than a couple users logged in, everything stops. Waiting for eCW to respond to system down ticket. Not much I can do here except watch the tickets pile up on our Help Desk.

When we could use it, interesting thing: you get popups telling you to upgrade the plug-in even if you’ve never used the browser.

Also, on my workstation over the weekend, some windows were showing a whiteout. Solution? Turns out the MSI doesn’t remove all prior versions of eCW. eCW Tech uninstalled two prior versions, then downloaded the current plug-in and installed it and downloaded an executable so he could install the application. Once he did that things worked… but I was the only user logged in. If we have to remove prior versions manually and install the plug-in manually, IT is not going to be happy. Yes, we did push out the MSI through a group policy software, if you’re asking. But the plug-in? For workstations that have never used the browser?

All ability to print to Dymos is gone. IT installed the usual Q file we’ve used since before I arrived but that failed.

It also removed permissions, as others have said, specifically the ability to view TEs. Our people can’t use the software enough to find out what else is broken.

And if eCW responds to this post faster than they respond to a system down ticket, there’s a systemic problem there as well.
