Does anyone have a good answer to dealing with huge prior medical record files patients bring to your practice?
Of course, there is the agonizing rescanning into the EMR (incredible that, in this day and age, you have to take prior electronic records, in a paper form , and regenerate electronic records!), but even once scanned, these large files are slow to open, often cause ECW to crash/freeze, and are difficult to move individual pages out of.
These records can be hundreds of pages, and creating endless file folders to “break them up” is tedious for office employees.
Does anyone have a good workflow?
Suggestions?
