Is there a way to copy a role with attributes?

Is there a way to copy a role with attributes….please tell me there is! I have to create a new role and going through and deciding on whether to add each attribute seems daunting.  I placed a ticket and was told a role cannot be copied and must be created and then each attribute added manually.
