Hello everyone!
I am wondering if anybody here feels confident in confirming any of the below summaries of eCW functions that relate to the sharing of patient information:
1. Marking an encounter normal PSAC via the note’s Confidential button only restricts local access to that encounter from your instance of eCW. By itself, it does not prevent that encounter from being shared to the patient portal or Carequality/Commonwell.
2. The only way to stop an encounter from going to the patient portal is via the Common Send button’s “For Patient” tab > “Block encounter from publishing to patient” checkbox, OR to block an entire Visit Type from publishing by not checking the “synchronize this visit type with the patient portal.” box within the Visit Type settings
3. The only way to stop an encounter from going to HIE/Carequality/Commonwell/Prisma is by placing that encounter under Advanced PSAC via configured Advanced PSAC and Data Governance settings.
4. Any patient who has had an encounter secured under Advance PSAC will have ALL of their encounters blocked retroactively and in the future from any HIE/Carequaltly/Commonwell/Prisma search.
5. If number 4 above is true, what is the difference between putting someone in Advanced PSAC vs just going to their Data Sharing preferences and Opt them out of Sending and Receiving data?
Just throwing this out there as we’ve received some conflicting information from support. Not trying to get into when its appropriate to do any of the above things, but strictly looking at it from an eCW functionality standpoint. Thanks in advance!
