Our providers are pulling ICD10 codes from note to note. From time to time the dx code (usually the specificity is too generic) and they are getting a pop-up message to choose a different code or find that they cannot send a medication or lab, etc, due to a now inactive/expired ICD10.
How are you handing this? I let them know the code has been expired and to choose a more specific code….sometimes that does not go over well :(
Are you running into this and if so, is there a report or a tool that will update their codes prior to them trying to use them?
