Has anyone experienced about 40+ categories showing in the HPI of templates? We had probably 30 templates I built years ago become corrupt with HPI categories, such as Birth Information, Oncology, Anal Cancer, Colon Cancer, Esophageal Cancer, Menarche….the list goes on. When pushing in a template these were dropping in the notes. eCW told us we built them this way, which we did not, because I built them years ago and we’ve been using them all along. I had to find all of the corrupted templates and use my new blank template (bc the blank was corrupted as well) and wipe out the HPI and add back in. ANd then the same thing for provider created templates once they reported it to me.
Fast forward to day 2 and the providers started complaining that now those same 40+ categories were in their notes when they pulled forward the HPI. I created another ticket which eventually got escalated yesterday. Today the technician called and says that we created these in the original template…no. And then that these categories must have been in prior notes and pulled forward…no (she checked previous notes) and 30 minutes into the conversation says that this is a known issue (bug) in the system and they are working on a patch. grrrr…
So in the meantime I asked providers not to lock notes (because all the ‘empty’ categories are showing in the locked note) and since those notes are going to the portal now, I can see patients calling like mad to ask why it shows anal cancer, Oncology and Renal Cell Cancer and Ovarian cancer in their notes. This is kind of a nightmare. With all that said, is anyone else experiencing this ‘bug’ and if so or not, any ideas what’s going on and how I can fix it?
