We would like to use the default RX options at the top of the CUR RX telephone encounter window for sending eprescriptions. So for instance, when we click the 30 or 90 day button to the left of the RX, we would like it to default to the the appropriate dispense # and refill number. There is a way to set your defaults at the top of the screen however according to our LVN, the pharmacies are only filling the meds for the specified duration and they are not being continued as an ongoing medication if we have a duarion in the duration field. If I refill an rx for Duration: 30 days Disp #: 30 and 5 Rf, I would expect the pharmacy to continue it but they are saying that since we wrote 30 days they won’t continue the rx even if there is a refill #.
Does anyone else have this problem? We are having to go in and add the dispense # and refill number for each rx and this adds more clicks to the workflow.
Are you sending a duration with your ongoing medication scripts or leaving that section blank with your refills?
