The need to fax large files means that I compile PHI from more than one source inside Ecw. This info. cannot be compiled completely by the Multidoc function. Multidoc cannot grab anything out of the patient HUB, such as letters from templates, cumulative lab reports etc. so I have to create external pdfs to my computer, compile pdfs into a cohesive document to import into ECW and then fax. Its a total work around but it gets the job done except that the fax server shuts down when it runs across one of my pdf documents. Completely shuts down.
ECW started by telling us it was the conversion of TIFFS to PDFs that were hanging up the server, now they say it is the software we are using (SmallPDF and /or Adobe Acrobat) to compile. This doesn’t make sense and there is no other way to compile these large documents save printing it all out and then scanning it back into ECW which is more work and a total waste of time.
Are they actually admitting a glaringly obvious shortcoming of ECW….that a simple compiled pdf will shut down the fax server?
We are getting nowhere with this after 10 months.
