Example:
Provider1 has PSAC security but does not have access to a specific PSAC group (i.e. ABC1)
Provider2 marks his note as confidential choosing PSAC group ‘ABC1’.
Provider1 accesses the patient’s hub and clicks into encounters. Chooses the encounter and receives a pop up asking for a reason. Enters a reason but then receives another pop up asking for a reason again. This cycle continues unltil he gives up and answers ‘NO’ to cancel the request.
HOWEVER, if instead of encounters, he clicks on Progress Notes from the hub, and uses the drop down arrow to get to the note he needs to look at, he gets the pop up, enters the reason, and VOILA!
PSAC works the way it was supposed to.
Our providers have been trained to look at ‘encounters’ not progress notes from the hub to avoid potentially getting into a live note but now I’m forced to have them change that process.
We have been informed that it is a ‘glitch’ in the current build (SP2.5.2) and is fixed in SP3 (which evidently is the miracle cure for all the issues we’ve been experiencing lately).
That would make sense except for the fact that we have been on this build for quite awhile, have had no other updates/upgrades except for eBO about a week ago, and yet this problem just started appearing over the last 2-3 weeks.
Has anyone else experienced this issue and what was the resolution ECW support provided?
