Apostrophe in demographics last name

Been in eCW a long time and know special characters are a no-no, but are you using an apostrophe with last names that have one?    O’Brien, O’Malley, etc.  Our last names that require an apostrophe are all over the place. O’Brien…O Brien…obrien…. Obrien….

I know apostrophes should not be used in documentation in the progress note, but are you using them for patient last name?  We are, without issue, when they are actually used.
