We have case managers and BH providers that do alot of group therapy and we have been doing group billing for about 2 years. Twice, we’ve had the group billing function crap out and was fixed after alot of back and forth. The error message that group billers were getting during those two times, were that they did not have permission to group bill and needed the security setting to modify templates.
Each time we got a technician on the phone they would tell us the users needed the setting: Allow to modify template globally. ummmm, no! We only allow our administrators that access and even with it, I could not group bill. After that, the group billing would somehow be working and we’d carry on.
Now for a third time, the users are getting that error message and I went through the same modify templates globally conversation with a technician and after two weeks of not being able to group bill, we are now told this is a BUG in the system and a hot fix has been requested in a future version of v11.40.xx, which is very non-specific. Apparently, there is not a workaround and we have no way to bill for group visits (some are 15 people or more in a group) and those notes remained unlocked at this point. I don’t know the JIRA # and it is not listed anywhere on my.eclinicalworks.com.
Anyone else having group billing woes or is your group billing is working appropriately? Maybe there is a workaround we are not aware of. We are on v11e, current version, eCW hosted.
